Adder's ADDERLink Infinity, KVM over IP-systems (Keyboard, Video, Mouse), stimulate a flexible workflow and the system can easily switch between sources from a distance. KVM allows users to share content and access it from anywhere. Video is transmitted in HD at a minimum, and in 5K at maximum quality.

There are three parts that together form the base of the ADDERLink Infinity KVM-system.

A.I.M.
The ADDERLink Infinity Management system (A.I.M.)
The A.I.M. manages the whole KVM-network and applies preset rules for connections in a flexible way. This is called 'user management'. With this feature it is possible to add a hierarchy to your user base. Every set user only gets remote access to the "channels"that are relevant to them. These channels are set up by the A.I.M. from a collection of elements from remote computers. Switching between channels is as easy as switching channels on your TV.

ZeroU transmitter
The transmitter (TX)

The transmitter is placed near the computer that needs to be accessed remotely in order to make it available on the network. The transmitter make it possible to sent its signal to one or more receivers at the same time.

The receiver (RX)

The receiver receives a signal from a transmitter and makes it visible on the connected screen at the given location. When this connection is made, mouse and keyboard control of the remote computer is enabled - as long as your account has access - making it seem as if the computer is in the same room.

Infinity
It's all in the name: ADDERLink Infinity. The KVM-networks you can make with this equipment are unlimited in scope. The infinity transmitters and receivers are connected to a suitable network based on standard ICT-switches. The scale, fragmentation, distances, network equipment preferences and capacity can be perfectly adjusted to every situation. In larger networks, multiple managers may be required.

KVM networks can get complex
Security

You don't need to worry about security with these KVM-systems. As mentioned earlier, the user manager ensures that a user cannot enter systems that they don't have permission to. The endpoints (RX and TX) set up encrypted connections, making interception of traffic impossible.

In addition, the Adder Infinity technology allows computers and disk drives to be placed in a closed server room. This makes them less susceptible to unauthorised access to the systems and theft of data. An additional advantage is the climate control in server rooms, which is optimised for such hardware, making systems last longer. A win-win situation.

Rijnmond
We recently had the opportunity to renew the entire ADDERLink Infinity KVM-system at Rijnmond. Rijnmond started using Infinity KVM in all its radio studios from around 2011. A year ago it was decided that the existing system needed renewal. Now they have the latest version ADDERLink Infinity ALIF101T-DVI, ALIF1002R and Infinity Manager ASP-001. Rijnmond is ready to continue using their KVM-systems for years to come.

The transmitters used in this project are ZeroU, which means no extra HEs are needed in the 19" racks for mounting. So, by using the Infinity system, you also save a lot of space in your server rack.

In summary
You have one A.I.M., the manager of your system. You place an endpoint (transmitter) at each computer that makes its signal available on your network. The A.I.M. knows exactly which signal this is and what conditions are attached. You also place an endpoint (receiver) near a screen in, for example, a studio. Through this receiver you request the desired image and the A.I.M. forwards or rejects it according to the rights configured in the system.
